I recently came across an interesting Forbes article titled, Innovation: Five Keys to Educating the Next Generation of Leaders, and was immediately inspired by the first line, “the best way to predict the future is to create it.” This is the same approach we took when Leadership Worcester was first developed as a way to educate the next generation of leaders by creating opportunities for them to grow as strong, resilient problem solvers in our communities.
As a proud partner of Leadership Worcester, we ultimately seek to engage promising new professionals with a strong network of partners to build personal and community success. Leadership Worcester is a joint initiative with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce and thanks to a number of scholarships, the program is open to those from nonprofits and small businesses that previously may not have been able to participate due to funding.
As the center for commerce and education with a growing innovation industry, Worcester is an ideal place to begin and build a career. The program offers training and skill development by connecting a network of thinkers and doers who can move the region forward. Leadership Worcester engages a new generation of leaders on critical public policy issues, including economic development, education, public health, culture, public safety, and sustainability.
Know someone who might be a good fit? Be sure to pass this information along. The program runs from September, 2016 through May, 2017, including an overnight retreat and monthly sessions. The deadline to submit an application is May 2, 2016. Click here to register.
