It has become our tradition. Every February or March, as the snow melts and days start to lengthen, we gather our donors for Winter Supper, a light meal and conversation behind the scenes at a local nonprofit. This year, we’re excited to be gathering at Worcester Academy’s newly renovated theatre on Providence Hill for a private screening of ‘A Small Good Thing,’ directed by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Pamela Tanner Boll and winner of Best Documentary at Boston's International Film Festival.
Shot in various locations in the Berkshires, this feature-length film follows six people who focus on alternative concepts of happiness and success. From social work student Tim Durrin, to yoga teacher Mark Gerow, to farmers Jen and Pete Salinetti, these everyday people find personal satisfaction through their link to nature, chosen professions, and connections with others, foregoing conventional definitions. Joining us will be producer Paula Kirk for a discussion following the film.
Like the characters presented in the film, our donors are people who tend to ask the fundamental questions. What does it mean to live a good life? How does one create a deeper connection to community? We look forward to experiencing the film together and conversing over dinner with our treasured friends.
