The message was clear to everyone at this year’s Annual Meeting: In order to grow our community here in Central Massachusetts, we must work together to build relationships, promote teamwork, and make an impact.
The message was clear to everyone at this year’s Annual Meeting: In order to grow our community here in Central Massachusetts, we must work together to build relationships, promote teamwork, and make an impact.
This annual celebration was held on May 17 at Mechanics Hall and highlighted some the Foundation’s achievements over the previous year. The 2016 financial results were released, new directors and corporators were elected, and Maria Mossaides, Massachusetts Child Advocate spoke to the need that all community leaders must be advocates for the success of all children.
As part of the event, the 2017 Renaissance Award winner was named. This year’s recipient was Diago McClain, founder and CEO of Worcester Pay It Forward. In the last 8 years, McClain has transformed the lives of more than 3,500 Worcester area youth ages 4 to 18 through mentoring, coaching, and leadership provided by the Pay It Forward organization.
Diago’s impact on the youth of the Central Massachusetts community goes far and beyond being a mentor and coach. He and his organization provide a sense of hope and opportunity for every one of his participants. His dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of so many disadvantaged youths is inspirational to us all.
We congratulate Diago on receiving the 2017 Renaissance Award.
