I like it best when our Foundation Board Room becomes the NSC Conference Center, a bustling place, filled with the voices of peers and professionals exchanging ideas and drawing support from one another. After one such gathering recently, Jean McMurray from the Worcester County Food Bankpulled me aside to comment on what the workshops of the Nonprofit Support Center (NSC) have meant to her. Since becoming Executive Director 20 years ago, Jean and her team have attended plenty of NSC seminars and social gatherings; she’s even been a featured presenter in the Executive Directors Luncheon Series.

For Jean, and for others, NSC provides timely and useful inspiration and resources for people in her position. And, Jean says, “NSC is where you can take a step back, breathe and enjoy the company of people who are passionate about what they do.”

We are proud to host NSC as a way to build community within our nonprofit sector. Workshops are intended to give practical ideas on important issues facing executive directors and their senior team. From discussion about equity to the state budget to succession planning, we set the table to help nonprofits gain knowledge and relationships to succeed.

If you have not checked it already, the Spring 2018 NSC Schedule has been released. I hope to see you at one or more workshops this season and to hear how you are benefitting from the NSC community.
