The Becker Global Public Service Award, which will provide a monetary award to support a humanitarian project developed and to be led by a rising college or university senior.

About the Becker Global Public Service Award

Becker College built a strong legacy of global citizenship, encouraging students to engage in work that advanced animal welfare, disaster mental health, social responsibility, and global health.

Following the college’s closure, that legacy continues through a historic $13 million endowment transferred to Greater Worcester Community Foundation. This fund supports new opportunities for students committed to creating positive change around the world.

The Becker Global Public Service Award provides up to $70,000 to support a graduating college student in leading a one-year humanitarian project anywhere in the world. Projects should focus on addressing pressing social challenges and advancing global human welfare through innovative, student-driven solutions.

Each year, colleges and universities in Worcester County may nominate one graduating student for consideration. Greater Worcester Community Foundation, together with a volunteer selection committee, will oversee the application review and award selection process.
