For individuals, families or organizations that wish to support students pursuing a postsecondary education.
Why create a scholarship fund at GWCF?
Invest in the future of Worcester County.
Scholarship funds help remove financial barriers that prevent talented students from pursuing higher education. Your generosity provides life-changing opportunities and strengthens Worcester County for generations.
As part of the region’s largest and most established scholarship program, your fund at GWCF will reach students effectively and responsibly.
Shape a scholarship that reflects your values.
You define the purpose and criteria for your fund — whether supporting students from a specific high school, those entering certain fields, or those committed to service. We work closely with you to ensure your intentions are honored with thoughtful, professional oversight, backed by decades of experience.
Expand access and build a lasting legacy.
A single application connects students to more than 155 scholarships, ensuring your fund reaches qualified students across the county. Most scholarship funds are endowed, providing reliable long‐term support and a legacy that grows stronger over time through disciplined investment and stewardship.

Dr. Paul and Gail Lock Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. Paul and Gail Lock Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Paul Lock and his family in memory of his beloved wife of 52 years, Gail (Agnew) Lock, following her passing in 2022. Aster Dr. Lock's passing in 2024, the scholarship was renamed to honor them both and the extraordinary lives they shared.
Raised in Spencer and graduates of David Prouty High School, Paul and Gail dedicated their lives to helping others — Paul as a respected endocrinologist, educator and researcher, and Gail as a devoted elementary school teacher and community volunteer.
This scholarship fund will honor their legacy by supporting students from the high school they aended and the communities they called home.
I am extremely grateful for this scholarship as it will help me follow my dreams to become a nurse. I will be continuing my studies at Fitchburg State University while also being a part of the Women's Soccer Team. This scholarship will give me great support and relief financially.
