The Greater Worcester Community Foundation and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, co-sponsors of Leadership Worcester, announced that the program is now recruiting new members for its 2021 class.

In its sixth year, Leadership Worcester has graduated over 120 professionals from various sectors including government, business, education, and the arts. These alumni live and/or work in Greater Worcester and they share a commitment to advancing the region through collaboration and civic engagement.

Through a ten-month experiential learning program, Leadership Worcester participants develop skills and engage with the community in a variety of ways. Each monthly session takes participants behind the scenes of Worcester's diverse anchor institutions and hidden gems, allowing them to see Worcester through a new lens. By building connections with local leaders and Leadership Worcester Alumni, participants become part of a growing network of talented professionals informed about the region's challenges and inspired by its opportunities.

“GWCF is proud to be a co-sponsor of the Leadership Worcester program and to encourage civic minded, passionate professionals to build their leadership skills and become more engaged in the community,” said Barbara Fields, President and CEO, GWCF.

“The continued growth of Worcester's business community depends on programs like Leadership Worcester to prepare the next generation of talented leaders. Leadership Worcester benefits employers by encouraging civic engagement and directly supporting the local pipeline of thought leaders and innovators,” said Timothy P. Murray, President and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.
