The Foundation today announced the awarding of $348,717 through the Fairlawn Foundation Fund that will serve the health needs of Central Massachusetts. Those who received funding will help make a positive difference by improving health care workforce training and supporting demonstration projects that improve care delivery to patients.

The following organizations received grants from the Fairlawn Foundation Fund:

  • Center for Health Impact to develop a specialized program in opioid prevention and intervention for Community Health Workers.
  • University of Massachusetts Medical School for an early childhood educator to work with pediatrics teams to improve service delivery to young children.
  • Worcester Division of Public Health to leverage academic and community resources to help Worcester become the Healthiest City in New England by 2020.
  • Worcester State Foundation for the STEM Center to develop a comprehensive support pipeline to improve preparation of students in all health career programs.
    In addition to the program grants, the Fairlawn Foundation awarded funds to support scholarships for nursing students at these local colleges: Anna Maria College, Becker College, Quinsigamond Community College, and Worcester State University.
