Greater Worcester Community Foundation today announced the awardees of its 2016 Summer grant program. The Foundation recognizes that the summer months represent unique opportunities and risks for young people, and award grants for school summer vacation programming.

A number of the organizations receiving grants will provide summer programs mixing academic enrichment and recreational activities for children. Other programs funded will provide employment for teens and opportunities for children to attend summer camp. The organizations receiving Summer Program grants are:

  • Canal District Alliance
  • Friendly House, Inc.
  • House of Peace & Education
  • Valley Residents for Improvement
  • Worcester Community Action Council, Inc.
  • Worcester Interfaith
  • Worcester Public Library Foundation
  • YMCA of Central Massachusetts
  • Youth Opportunities Upheld (YOU), Inc.
