(Worcester, Mass - March 22, 2021) Barbara Fields, CEO of the Greater Worcester Foundation, has resigned effective immediately.


“On behalf of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, we are announcing that Barbara Fields has submitted her resignation as CEO of the Foundation, effective immediately, to pursue other opportunities. The Foundation thanks Barbara for her contributions and wishes her well in her future endeavors,” - The Board of Directors, Greater Worcester Community Foundation.

“I would like to thank the Foundation for the opportunity to serve as its CEO and I am looking forward to the next chapter in my career,” said Fields.
Carolyn Stempler, who currently serves as Chair of the Board, will immediately step in to serve as the Interim CEO for the Foundation.

“The Greater Worcester Community Foundation is at the heart of the philanthropic activity in Central Massachusetts and we are poised to make an even bigger impact in 2021 and beyond,” said Stempler.

Chris Collins, who currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board will assume the role of Chair. In addition, the Foundation will begin the process of establishing a search committee to seek a permanent CEO to lead the Foundation.


“We look forward to maintaining and growing the important role that the Foundation plays in the life of our community,” said Collins adding that “The Foundation, its Programs and Finances, all remain strong and we are poised to make an even greater impact on the community as we emerge from the pandemic.”
