Local health plan makes $150,000 initial investment in Worcester County’s aging population.

Throughout his 25-year career with Fallon Health, retiring President and CEO Richard P. Burke has been a driving force behind the organization’s commitment to serving older adults. Now, the local health plan’s Board of Directors is honoring his significant contributions with a new fund established through the Greater Worcester Community Foundation. Fallon Health made the initial investment of $150,000 in Burke’s name.

“Richard is one of the most kind and authentic leaders in all of health care. He has been a champion for older adults and caregivers in the communities Fallon Health serves since joining the organization in 1998 and continuing through the last eight years as President and CEO.” said Fred Misilo, Jr., chair of the Fallon Health board of directors.

We are pleased to be able to recognize the significant impact Richard has made on this important population and to continue his work in a way that aligns with our mission.

- Fred Misilo, Jr., Board Chair, Fallon Health

The Richard P. Burke Fund to Support Older Adults will provide grants to support projects or programs focused on addressing the health and human services needs of older adults living in Worcester County.

Establishing a field of interest fund at the community foundation is a wonderful way to honor Richard and his legacy. This permanent fund will be a valuable source of funding for nonprofits serving older adults in the region, and we are grateful for Fallon Health’s support and partnership.

- Pete Dunn, President & CEO, Greater Worcester Community Foundation

Contributions to the Richard P. Burke Fund to Support Older Adults can be made by credit card online or by check mailed to Greater Worcester Community Foundation at 1 Mercantile Street, Suite 010, Worcester, MA 01608, with the name of the fund in the memo line.
